FWI is carrying out the process design for a new 900 m3/h WTP annexed to a Water Injection Plant in an oil field in Al-Khafji, KSA, and for the interconnecting of the revamping of a desalination plant located in the same place. The End-User of the facilities is one of the most important Saudi Oil Company. These projects are part of a series of projects that are going to be developed in the area.

Nature of Project:
FWI has executed, since 2000, several projects in both two refineries in Sines, near Lisbon, and Porto, owned by Galp Energia. FWI has provided a broad range of consultancy and engineering services in environmental field, mainly related to the new investments plans that are going to be implemented in the facilities. Furthermore, FWI has also executed some evaluation studies of the environmental status of about 70 gas stations, relatied to a transaction of properties process with an important european oil company.

The project consisted in the remediation of the soil and subsoil of a former refinery owned by Italiana Petroli (IP), propedeutcally to the realization of a new residential and commercial complex. Strong technical support to the Client in the relarionships with Public Authorities has been assured by FWI.

Nature of Project:
The project consisted in the remediation of the soil and subsoil of former ENI refinery located across the Municipalities of Rho and Pero, close to Milan, propedeutcally to the erection of the new Fair of Milan. The project included also the dismantling of the civil facilities still existing above ground, as well as the decommissioning of all the underground infrastructures (sewer, cable trays, foundations). In order to assure the respect of schedule and budget, the remediation works were conducted in conjunction with the erection works of the new fair. Strong technical support to the Client in the relarionships with Public Authorities has been assured by FWI.

Nature of Project:
FWI has been appointed by API to carry out all aspects related to the permitting phases for the authorization to proceed with the construction of a new 512 MWe GTCC plant within the refinery of Falconara. The services rendered by FWI has covered a broad range of aspects, from the assessment of the environmental impact, up to the evaluation of the compliance with IPPC regulatory system recently entered in force with the receipt of a European Community Directive, including aspects pertinent to soil and groundwater.

Nature of Project:
Focal Points: Decontamination of more than 1,000 hectares of agricultural lands, dedicated to rice and corn coltivation, subsequent to the blow-off of an oil extraction welll named “Trecate 24”. It was the first huge remediation project executed in Italy. The remediation was successfully completed using a mix of biotechnologies for both matrix of soil and groundwater. The most contaminated area, corresponding to approx. 13 hectares of humus soil, was decontaminated in 2 biopiles of 15,000 m3 each, completely authomatized.
