Tecnologie
Le seguenti tecnologie relative alla progettazione di Forni di Processo e Caldaie Industriali sono state sviluppate da Foster Wheeler:
- Delayed Coker
-
Foster Wheeler has designed and engineered more delayed cokers worldwide than any other organization. Foster Wheeler has built approximately half of the world's delayed cokers specifically designed for needle coke production. All Foster Wheeler delayed cokers are built with Foster Wheeler fired heaters to ensure economic operation with long on-stream factors. On delayed cokers, the Fired Heater group engineer works very closely with the Foster Wheeler process engineer to develop an optimum design. All Foster Wheeler delayed coker heaters, even those for proprietary needle cokers are entirely process designed, thermally rated, and mechanically specified by Foster Wheeler.

Foster Wheeler has supplied over 200 reformers worldwide and the following describes Foster Wheeler’s proprietary TERRACE WALL™ Reformer technology. The Reformer features a radiant section consisting of fire-box, each containing a single row of catalyst tubes with terraced-burners on either side of the tubes discharging hot gas into the convection section. The convection section has several coils, which recover heat from the flue gas leaving the radiant section for various process and utility duties. The reformer is designed to recover as much heat from the flue gas as is economic, whilst avoiding dew point problems. Reformers of this type have been in operation for many years under different conditions. TERRACE WALL™ technology offers several advantages over competing technologies, namely: · Uniform heat flux distribution giving long reformer tube life · High reliability · Low steam-to-carbon ratio · Positive reformer furnace firing control · Low maintenance requirement · High product gas purity and low product cost.
Foster Wheeler’s Fired Heater group engineers and builds all kinds of process furnaces including reformers for hydrogen, ammonia and methanol services.
